Nimali Sunethra Perera living in Ellakkala in the Gampaha district has been sewing ladies foundation garments as a small-scale entrepreneur for over a decade. She has learnt the operations and trade as a young girl from her own father. I/D/E/A/S supported Nimali with a financial grant cum loan in 2021 to help her purchase essential cloth and accessories to enhance her stock of finished products. This enabled her to reach out to a larger and different segment of customers and also improve her customer base in several areas including far-off Trincomalee and Matara.

Asanka Kommalage who lives in Egoda Duwe, Kosgoda in Southern Sri Lanka had met I/D/E/A/S members initially during the aftermath of the 2004 December Tsunami. He had been severely affected by the disaster. His grocery shop was completely destroyed. I/D/E/A/S helped to rebuilt several houses in the Egoda Duwe Village and built a community centre. They also helped several villagers to restart their livelihoods by supporting them financially....
