This Anthurium plant nursery is owned and maintained by Mahinda Sarath Kumara in Pallegama, Kegalle. He has been growing several different varieties of this plant. Anthurium flowers are in much demand for floral decorations at many local functions. Mahinda sells plants to customers who in turn cater to a wide local /export anthurium flowers market. He was supported by I/D/E/A/S in 2019 with a financial grant and loan to renovate his plant nursery.

Asanka Kommalage who lives in Egoda Duwe, Kosgoda in Southern Sri Lanka had met I/D/E/A/S members initially during the aftermath of the 2004 December Tsunami. He had been severely affected by the disaster. His grocery shop was completely destroyed. I/D/E/A/S helped to rebuilt several houses in the Egoda Duwe Village and built a community centre. They also helped several villagers to restart their livelihoods by supporting them financially....
