‘Sameera Products’ has been a household name for ready-made spices including chillie powder, chillie pieces, pepper powder, raw & roasted curry powder and turmeric powder in the Puwakgaha Thotupola, Moratumulla area in Moratuwa. Sameera de Mel, ably supported by his wife Maduka, has been engaged in grinding the raw material, packaging and selling ready-to-be-used spices, while also working as a mechanic at a leading organization. Sameera was able to procure much needed raw material and a grinding machine with financial support from I/D/E/A/S.

Asanka Kommalage who lives in Egoda Duwe, Kosgoda in Southern Sri Lanka had met I/D/E/A/S members initially during the aftermath of the 2004 December Tsunami. He had been severely affected by the disaster. His grocery shop was completely destroyed. I/D/E/A/S helped to rebuilt several houses in the Egoda Duwe Village and built a community centre. They also helped several villagers to restart their livelihoods by supporting them financially....
