Nimali Sunethra Perera living in Ellakkala in the Gampaha district has been sewing ladies foundation garments as a small-scale entrepreneur for over a decade. She has learnt the operations and trade as a young girl from her own father. I/D/E/A/S supported Nimali with a financial grant cum loan in 2021 to help her purchase essential cloth and accessories to enhance her stock of finished products. This enabled her to reach out to a larger and different segment of customers and also improve her customer base in several areas including far-off Trincomalee and Matara.

Malkanthi Bandara of Katudeniya, Mathale has been running her own business of producing cloth bags,
soft toys and ladies garments. She sells these products to local and foreign customers who drop in at
her shop.
