Donation of Cricket Nets to Methodist High School, Moratuwa [2014]

Methodist High School in Puwakaramba, Moratuwa is a school providing education to a large number of young boys in the Moratuwa – Piliyandala area. Apart from academics, the students are encouraged to engage in sports. Cricket is very popular amongst the students. However, the cricket nets at the school grounds where the boys practise had gradually become damaged with time and continuous use, and by the start of 2014, as the boys came into the new cricket season, their practices had to be abandoned due to lack of net facilities. The School Principal Mr M.L.Perera appealed to I/D/E/A/S for assistance.

Thus, the school was provided with new Cricket nets with a generous grant from I/D/E/A/S in July 2014. This gesture was received with much delight by the cricket-enthusiastic students and the heartfelt appreciation of the School Principal, Staff and Parents.
