Purchase of computers to Vidyathileke Vidyalaya, Thimbirigasyaya [2015]

The Lions Club of Havelock Town had set up a computer room for Vidyathileke Vidyalaya, Thimbirigasyaya, Colombo 5 with all the necessary facilities including electronic and IT equipment, and several secondhand computers. However, 8 years later, in 2015, those computers started giving trouble and became unusable. Around the same time, a teacher who was highly competent in teaching IT to school children was appointed to the school. This time around, the Lions Club of Havelock Town approached I/D/E/A/S for sponsorship of new computers to this school.
Thereby, a generous contribution of Rs 103,000 was given from I/D/E/A/S together with the services of an IT specialist to ascertain the requirements and available facilities, to meet computer suppliers to obtain quotations and to enable the purchase of 2 new desk top computers and accessories. They were also provided with software and virus guards for all computers as well as a set of introductory CDs suitable for beginners.
